The Nol card allows you to easily access the RTA’s public transport services. RTA’s pricing system integrates the Metro, bus and tram rides. It only considers how far you have travelled during a trip regardless of whether you used any mode.
The number of ‘zones’ that you have crossed determines the price. RTA has split its public transport network into seven zones. You could change from a Metro trip to a bus and then to a tram, and if you’re in the same zone, it will be treated as one trip. You should ensure that the trip takes less than 30 minutes. All trips beyond 30 minutes will be charged separately, even if they are within the same area.
Your Nol card can purchase groceries at a supermarket or a burger from a fast-food restaurant. RTA has partnered with many restaurants, pharmacies, fuel stations, and government departments to enable users to use their Nol cards as debit cards. You can also make electronic payments, which are taken from your e-purse.
Depending upon the card you choose, this will determine how much you could be charged to use public transport.
one zone – Dh3-Dh6
Two zones – Dh5-Dh10
